Dieting helps with Binge Eating Disorder. Hmm…
It makes me wonder if the researchers and reporters actually think that dieting work for bingers? I mean, anyone that binge eats know dieting doesn’t help. In fact, it only makes the cycle so much worse.
Binge Eating Disorder is the most common eating disorder out there, but there is still not a lot of information available. It’s easy to pass on the facts about binge eating, but unless you have been there before, you really don’t know what it is like.
It’s like someone telling you, “Oh, just stop eating so much and you’ll be fine.” Really? Is it that simple? Of course not. That advice is coming from someone that has no idea what it is like to have this eating disorder. This advice also can lead the binger into feeling extremely weird because it isn’t that easy at all. If it were, I highly doubt Binge Eating Disorder would be the most common disorder.
If you do binge eating, don’t diet. Talk to someone who knows what it is like to be in your shoes. Experience always tells the story best!
